Teaching with AI: Personalised Learning through AI-powered Data Analytics and Digital Teachers

EdTech Classroom (Curated by EdCity)

Overview

This open lesson examines the transformative potential of AI in education, based on my ongoing project to integrate AI tools into teaching across all subjects. The focus is on leveraging AI-powered data analytics to provide real-time feedback, enabling teachers to identify learning gaps instantly and intervene effectively during lessons. Research suggests this approach can increase student engagement by up to 25% (British Educational Research Journal, 2025).

A core aspect of the project is the development of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) digital human, designed to function as an interactive, subject-agnostic digital teacher. Powered by large language models (LLMs) trained on educators' expertise, this prototype aims to support pre-lesson, in-class, and post-lesson activities, enhancing personalisation and fostering engagement.

Additionally, the open elsson highlights initiatives to enhance teacher AI competency and build student AI literacy, ensuring ethical and effective use of AI technologies to create equitable and future-ready learning environments. By sharing early prototypes and future plans, this session aims to inspire educators to explore how AI can support
