Innovation Classroom (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
In this open lesson, the speaker would introduce the project’s practical background
Then the speaker will share how to strategically built a hardware environment to provide solid support. For example, to equip with All-in-One touchscreen devices and to establish specialised classrooms for Chinese folk music in a bid to popularise Chinese Folk Music.
The speaker would also share how the ‘Three-dimensional Curriculum’ was constructed for students to appreciate the beauty of Chinese Folk Music. The curriculum entails the ‘Foundational Courses’ (appreciation of Chinese Folk Music), ‘Enrichment Courses’ (Chinese Folk Music club and green and eco-friendly musical instrument workshops), and ‘Innovative Courses’ (Empowering small musical instruments with 3D printing technology).
The project receives positive achievements as below:
1. Students grasped the essence of Chinese national arts and their cultural confidence enhanced;
2. Students learnt to apply interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to solve problems, mastering the ability to transfer and utilise knowledge; and
3. Students were more familiarised with autonomous learning and teamwork, and were able to complete learning tasks through inquiry, communication and collaboration.
The speaker hopes to enhance teachers’ ICT skills and boost their teaching and research capabilities through this sharing.
