Enhancing English Language Education in Primary Schools with Oasis, an all-in-one AI-powered Learning Platform

Overview

This workshop introduces Oasis, an all-in-one English learning platform developed by Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Leveraging the EDB-approved Open English Textbooks, Oasis integrates AI, gamification, and multimedia to support immersive, personalised, and self-directed learning.

Part 1: Introduction to Oasis
Participants will get an overview of the platform’s objectives—how it bridges education technology with pedagogical goals to create dynamic, adaptive English learning experiences tailored to diverse student needs.

Part 2: Key Features Deep Dive
Through live demonstrations, the speaker will showcase AI-powered features, including instant feedback on open-ended questions, intelligent grammar exercise support with hints and explanations, and automated writing task generation with grading analytics. Participants will also discover gamification elements (reward systems, personalised ‘Oasis’ avatars) that boost motivation and participation, alongside multimedia components, including audios, videos and interactive games that cater to different learning styles while reinforcing language skills.

Part 3: Data-Driven Learning
The workshop will highlight Oasis’ Report System which enables teachers to monitor student progress and learning performance for targeted instruction. The Student Report also empowers learners to track their own learning performance, facilitating their development of different language skills.

Part 4: Try-Out & Q&A
Educators will have hands-on time to test the platform's features firsthand. The session concludes with an open Q&A to discuss practical implementation strategies and address specific classroom challenges.
