From Programming to National Security: Exploring Drone Education at TYTAPS

Future Learning Theatre (Curated by EdCity)

Overview

Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School utilizes swarm drones for innovative teaching, allowing students to learn programming while deepening their understanding of national security. The school has designed a series of programming courses where students use Python or Scratch to control the drones' flight paths, grasping fundamental programming concepts.

Under the guidance of teachers, students learn to coordinate multiple drones in flight, enhancing their understanding of programming logic and algorithms. Simultaneously, educators incorporate national security knowledge into the curriculum, explaining the applications of drones in defense and disaster monitoring, fostering awareness of the social responsibilities associated with drone technology.

Students also participate in simulation exercises, executing monitoring tasks and learning rapid response strategies for emergencies, highlighting the role of drones in maintaining national security. Through these activities, Ching Yi Business Association Primary School not only enhances students' programming skills but also cultivates their awareness of national security, effectively blending technology education with social responsibility.
