Strategies for Practising and Promoting National Geography in Secondary Level
Student Empowerment Theatre (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
National geography education plays a vital role in cultivating students’ national identity and social responsibility. In teaching and research activities, we explore teaching models such as thematic enquiry learning and participate in the design of activities such as Mainland geography field trips, aiming to stimulate students’ enthusiasm and initiative in learning national geography, improve their geography literacy, and cultivate a sense of home and country.
The speaker hopes to enhance:
1. Resource Development: Review and assist in the production of geography resources for Hong Kong, such as the production of enquiry-based learning and Mainland geography field trips, to broaden students’ horizons and deepen the connotation of national geography education.
2. Teacher Development: Participate in teaching and research activities such as the 'Trial Teaching Scheme to Demonstrate Lesson Practices for Teaching National Geography' and sharing of lesson plan to improve teaching concepts and methods, provide better teaching, and promote the development of national geography education.
Participants of this seminar will:
1. Recognise the importance of national geography education, inspire and carry out relevant national geography education activities, and promote the sustainable development of national geography education.
2. Master more teaching strategies and obtain practical teaching guidance.
