Overview

The teaching team has designed a unit lesson for sixth graders focusing on ‘mixed operations with decimals’ using Polya's four-step problem-solving method. This is complemented by a generative AI assistant that guides students in dialogue, allowing them to adjust their learning based on AI feedback. The integration of AI in the classroom supports students' learning phases effectively. Through this designed unit, the teaching team aims to encourage students to independently solve more than three mixed operation problems.

The teacher will utilise the AI assistant to enhance students' problem-solving skills. The effectiveness will be assessed through teacher interviews, student surveys, and focus group discussions with students of varying abilities.
