Study on IELTS One Skill Retake; and British Council IELTS Ready Premium
AI in Education Theatre (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
This seminar delves into the relationship between the test takers and their retaking of the tests. Quantitatively draws upon 12 months of East Asia and global data, from when the IELTS one skill retake (OSR) was introduced in 2023.
Test takers' results are found to be easily affected by test takers’ illness and anxiety, creating fault in their first taking of assessments (Hausknecht et al., 2007; Lievens et al., 2005); that led to unfavourable outcomes, in which retests are viewed to be able to enhance the familiarity of the test takers to the test taking scenarios (Hausknecht et al., 2007; Steiner, 2001); without the consequences from receiving scores that reflected negative error from test takers unluckiness (Roszkowski & Spreat, 2016). This study also filled the gap as there is little data available reviewing the performance of retakers of the English language proficiency tests (Barkaoui, 2017; Green & Van Moere, 2020)
During the seminar, the British Council IELTS ready premium – the AI test practice platform, and the wide range of support from the British Council provides to the English teaching community for the enhanced language proficiency requirement (enhanced LPR) in Hong Kong will be shared.
