International Co-operation for Educational Development – Addressing Local Challenges with International Solutions
Student Empowerment Theatre (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
As the speaker has worked in public and commercial positions related to international education, there has always been the same agenda and goal with the international cooperation initiatives: how to improve the quality of a system or solve an existing challenge.
In education, different regions have different challenges. Sometimes the challenge of one region can be already the strength of another region and vice-versa. Cooperation, if its regional, national or international, can give new ideas and approaches and even solutions for addressing these challenges.
Coming from a background from Finnish education, there has been growing interest for some time for the system used in Finland. The Finnish system has received excellent results with a very different system and approach from other leading countries. This has sparked a lot of interest for system development based on the methods and practices from Finland and increased demand for collaboration and knowledge and talent sharing.
Participants of this seminar will understand:
- Strategic approach for international cooperation;
- The benefits of systematic and well-prepared cooperation; and
- The importance of the development of cultural intelligence in the holistic growth of students
