Unity of Knowledge and Action, Symbiosis Across Boundaries: Fengtai's Practice in Interdisciplinary Thematic Learning Under the STEAM Framework
Pedagogy & Curriculum Theatre (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
Fengtai Primary School in Pengjiang District, a newly established institution driven by innovative development, pioneered the exploration of "interdisciplinary PBL project-based learning" in Jiangmen City three years ago. It successfully built a school-wide PBL curriculum system, deeply integrating PBL into timetables and establishing a comprehensive "project design-implementation-exhibition-evaluation" framework. This practice, centered on "authentic context-driven tasks, deep interdisciplinary integration, and home-school-community collaborative education," has catalyzed a new "Educational Consortium" model for collaborative education.
The speaker will systematically introduce the school’s interdisciplinary PBL curriculum system, focusing on its end-to-end operational framework from project design to evaluation, and delve into three core practices:
1. Cultivating interdisciplinary competencies: Developing students’ ability to integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for tackling complex real-world challenges;
2. Pedagogical innovation: Demonstrating how timetable restructuring and subject integration strategies ignite students’ self-directed exploration; and
3. Transformative assessment: Explaining how AI-enhanced process evaluation systems guide continuous student advancement through real-time feedback.
