How to Use Nintendo Switch’s ‘Game Builder Garage’ to Teach Game Programming and Enhance Students’ Creative Thinking
Innovation Classroom (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
This research demonstrates how Nintendo Switch's "Game Builder Garage" aligns perfectly with my STEAM education initiatives. My program focuses on stimulating students' creative thinking through game programming, employing both popularisation (for all students) and elite training models (for advanced learners) to benefit students at different skill levels. Teaching cases confirm that gamified learning effectively enhances students' logical reasoning and creativity. Furthermore, the sharing sessions and inter-school collaboration model echo my advocacy for "cross-school exchange," providing students with platforms to showcase their work and learn from peers.
This approach significantly strengthens the practical outcomes of STEAM education by fostering innovation, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving skills. The results validate game-based programming as an engaging and effective pedagogical tool for 21st-century learning.
