Enhancing Education through Gamification

Overview

Many think that adding a points system and a leaderboard automatically improves learners’ motivation, but the truth is that each and every game mechanic comes with its own advantages and disadvantages.

For example, a global leaderboard actually demotivates low and mid-achieving students, while a levelling system motivates them and gives them a strong sense of autonomy and confidence.

In this presentation we will show how we carefully and intricately craft gamification in an Adaptive Math Learning platform to steer students towards the optimal behaviour for best results for Math learning and even life skills.
