Promoting Learning Analysis and Classroom Feedback through Virtual Reality

EdTech Classroom (Curated by EdCity)

Overview

Students display various learning behaviours during virtual reality (VR) learning experiences. By utilising technology for ‘learning analysis’, teachers can gain valuable insights into these behaviours. This presentation focused on methods for collecting learning analysis data in VR environments, including questions and responses, voice notes, attention heat maps. In addition, effective classroom feedback can be enhanced through AI, including AI voice transcription and AI grading, to improve both learning and teaching effectiveness.

Currently, under the ‘Jockey Club’s VR Project for Chinese Language Education’, the speaker’s centre has supported various schools in implementing virtual reality learning for Chinese language learning. The open lesson will focus on sharing the research findings from two schools. This study analysed students' reflective learning behaviours and motivation by examining data collected from virtual reality experiences, and investigates the role of virtual reality in developing students' metacognitive abilities.

Participants in this open lesson will have the opportunity to learn about:
1. Take the teaching design from the ‘Jockey Club’s VR Project for Chinese Language Education’ as an example to understand the application of VR in actual classroom;
2. Utilising data in virtual reality for learning analysis can aid teachers in understanding students' learning behaviours and delivering more precise feedback in the classroom.
